This run uses two different randomizers and a couple of my own restrictions to create a completely unique challenge that can be played over and over with different seeds. What: Episodes: Runtime: Link: This mod and challenge are a creation of my own.
In this mod, the game is divided into sections. Every time you complete a section you lose your materia, equipment, items and gil. In order to survive you need to scavenge, steal, and morph to get the items you need to survive. This will be a walkthrough of the mod including tips for anybody who needs help, as well as a completion of death's Challenge, which means there will be no shopping throughout the entire run. The point is to be completely ridiculous, so if you think this challenge is way too off the wall, it's doing its job.
It is a sort of pseudo-randomizer challenge, but still sticks to vanilla strategies and balance. In this mod, all character levels and stats are set to 1, but you have all equipment, accessories, and materia at your disposal from the beginning. This is achieved with a modded save game file; Only the save game is modded and no game files are touched.
No inns, no items, no absorbing. The mod also removes Shield materia, hp and mp absorb materia, and all sources. Any fight that doesn't include Cloud will be auto-won using a tool no AP will be given and items won in battle will be kept.
The same tool will be used to auto-kill any other party members at the start of every battle. Because of his AI he is impossible to beat in a solo battle, he will always pyramid by his third turn. What: Episodes: Runtime: Link: The Necrosis mod is a version of the game where every character starts out with hp and mp and can never heal hp or mp. Death is permanent and if Cloud dies the game is over since the final fight with Sephiroth is impossible.
If you ask me if something will heal, the answer will always be no. Inns don't heal, draining doesn't heal, disk change doesn't heal, elixirs don't heal, there is no way to increase hp or mp at all. If I run into a glitch that allows me to heal, I will purposefully lose the health to keep the integrity of the challenge. Unlike the New Threat mod all of the materia and equipment are mostly the same with only a few tweaks for balancing, so this will be a test in true vanilla FFVII skills and strategies.
What: Episodes: Runtime: Link: The challenge is to beat the entire PS4 port on x3 mode and in active battle, which basically means the enemy will be putting in inputs 3 times faster than I can. I didn't come up with the idea of making this a real challenge until a little later on, but I play the beginning of the game on x3 anyways so it works out.
To avoid listening to this inferior soundtrack, players need only download the Original BGM mod. Its function is simple enough — the mod replaces the MIDI soundtrack of the PC port with the original music of the game. It's this fact itself that makes it one of the best FF7 mods! It replaces the main party with Shinra people.
Rufus is used in place of Cloud, for example, and other members of his board are in there too like Scarlet. The last update was last July. The battle backdrops that Final Fantasy 7 transitions into are certainly quite nostalgia-inducing. However, even the most ardent Final Fantasy 7 fans will have to admit that the textures of these battle areas have aged quite poorly.
It's a great Final Fantasy 7 mod for players who want each and every aspect of their game to be as polished and modern as possible. This mod auto-scales the graphics on the PC version of the game and attempts to smooth them over. The spell names present in Final Fantasy games are quite notable in their own right.
The natural evolution of spells such as Fire evolving into Fira and then Firaga is quite a treat to witness, but Final Fantasy 7 lacks this approach. Instead, most upgraded spells are referred to as Fire2 or Fire3 instead, which can be quite jarring to read for Final Fantasy veterans. The Modern Spell Names mod makes this small yet extremely noticeable change that certainly increases the authenticity of this title to quite an extent.
The pre-rendered backgrounds of Final Fantasy 7 that players roam around in looked good In the modern age, these backgrounds look incredibly blurry and downright ugly for some people too. To ensure that these backgrounds don't end up feeling too dated, you can download this mod to increase their quality.
The upscaling used in this mod is smart and ensures that no details are lost while improving the visual fidelity of these backgrounds. It also is an attempt to make the original game look better. This FF7 mod was actually announced this year as of February and the user even put out a roadmap trailer to show where they want this project to go.
It highlights better graphics, a smoother frame rate, fixed menus, and more. It changes the character models in the original game to look more like their movie counterparts. This actually makes the models look like they came from the PS2, which might mean the modder used assets from the Kingdom Hearts series or was at least inspired by it.
Cloud, Aerith, Tifa, Cid, and Yuffie do appear in those games, after all. This changes the character models in the game to look like they do in the mobile spinoff, Dissidia Final Fantasy: Opera Omnia.
This only applies to models that appeared in that game though.
